Genres: Fantasy, Paranormal, Young Adult

Synopsis

***Experience the events of Angelbound from Lincoln’s perspective!!!***

When it comes to fighting demons, Prince Lincoln is the greatest warrior in the history of his people, the thrax. Now Lincoln faces his hardest fight yet…and it’s not on a traditional battlefield.

Lincoln is falling in love. And the girl is part demon.

Between a fated dance at the Ryder mansion…a life-changing walk through a hedgerow maze…and a massive battle with none other than the King of Hell…Lincoln realizes that he wants to share his life with Myla Lewis, the part-demon girl who has captured his heart. However, an evil thrax noble—the powerful Earl of Acca—is prepared to do anything to stop Lincoln and Myla from having a future.

But Lincoln won’t give up on his Myla. Ever.

To fight Aldred, Lincoln works to create a different kind of marriage—an Alliance of the lesser thrax houses against Acca. Sadly, just as Lincoln starts to makes some progress, the nobles who’ve joined his Alliance begin to vanish. Is Aldred behind the disappearances, or is someone else vying for power? When Lincoln discovers the truth, it upends his entire world, threatening his future with Myla in ways no one could ever have imagined.

EXCERPT:

An hour later, I stand in an ornate ballroom at the Ryder mansion.

In a tux.

And my world has stopped spinning. Or perhaps it’s simply whirling too fast. At this point, it’s hard to know.

Myla Lewis is here.

Father steps up beside me. “How was the chat with Silvinio, my son?”

“Not too productive. He volunteered that he’s no longer gambling.” I leave out the tidbits about the Tithe and Aldred, since Father thinks those two can do no wrong.

“Is he gambling the demon fighting circuit again?” asks Father.

“Most likely.”

Father then launches into a recap on the latest winners and losers on the circuit. At least, I think that’s what he’s talking about. It’s hard to pay attention.

Myla is crossing the room.

And she’s heading in my direction.

At some point, Father stops talking. Myla pauses a few yards away. Her back is toward me, but even so, I’m a hunter. There’s no missing the slightest twitch in her ears. No one else stands near Myla. Only me and my father.

Myla must be listening to us.

My thoughts race. What did Walker say before? Myla might find me intriguing, and Walker didn’t want Myla to turn heartsick. And now, she seems to be paying attention. This is bad. True, I could be imagining her interest. But even if it’s one chance on a thousand that I could hurt her, I simply can’t risk it. Having Myla in my life will cause her nothing but pain, one way or another.

That leaves only one thing to do. Follow Walker’s instructions. His words echo through my mind.

If you ever encounter Miss Lewis, you should play the haughty thrax. Look down on her demonic side. She’ll hate it—and you—forever.

As Father walks off, I keep my gaze locked in Myla’s outline. She still seems alert, but isn’t fidgeting or clenching her fists. A wave of relief moves through me. Maybe I was imagining the connection between us. Every hunter makes mistakes.

Clang. Myla knocks over a can onto the floor.

Now I could leave, but my feet move toward Myla on their own. “Are you alright, Miss?”

She turns to face me and I could cheer for joy. Up close, she’s lovelier than I imagined. Life and light glitters in her brown eyes. My arms ache to envelop her. She smells of cinnamon and sunshine.

“I’m fine,” she says simply. “I dropped an empty can, that’s all.”

We pause. Lines of energy and interest flow between us, connecting our hearts. No, no, no. This isn’t supposed to happen. And it means I should definitely leave.

And I want to.

Yet I can’t.

If you don’t like loud-mouthed pixies who are really cool but sometimes get told they’re immature (for no reason), then definitely stop reading.

Oh, and if you’re His Awfulness The Elf Prince ‘Dare’ Darius, then you can kiss my butt. My hatred for you burns with the fire of a thousand suns. Thanks for getting me kicked out of Pixieland and exiled to attend some rando human high school on Earth. You’re the worst, even if you have a cute smile. And nice eyes. Your hair looks okay sometimes, too. But you’re still a creep and I loathe you.

And to everyone else: if you’ve read this far, then you better finish my entire diary.

My story is supernatural, wacked-out, and overall awesome.

Tour with Excerpt and Giveaway ~ The Brutal Time by Christina Bauer

Title: The Brutal Time
Author: Christina Bauer
Series: Angelbound Origins #6
Published by: Monster House Books
Publication date: October 29th 2019
Genres: Fantasy, Paranormal, Young Adult

Synopsis

“I love the Angelbound Origins world and just can’t seem to get enough of it!”The Avid Reader

As the Great Scala, Myla Lewis is the only being who can move Purgatory’s souls to Heaven or Hell. It’s a big job. Too bad Myla goes through assistants faster than a hot knife through brownies. Not that it bothers her much; Myla’s always been a solo fighter.

Then comes the problem of the fading angels. Millions of Heavenly residents are dying. According to a prophecy, the only way Myla can save them is by traveling back in time, meeting King Arthur, and creating her own knights of the round table. The catch? Doing so might end the after-realms in a bloody demonpocalypse.

Yipes.

Myla and her main squeeze, Lincoln, aren’t afraid of taking a few chances (in between kisses). But with so much at risk, the stakes may be too high, even for them. And the biggest challenge of all? Finding those knights.

Because Myla Lewis doesn’t play well with others. At all.

Excerpt – Time To Kick Some Old Lady Butt

Time to kick some old lady butt.

And no, I’m not kidding.

Right now, I pace inside a hallway of the Sunset Retirement Community for Quasi-Demonic Women. Like most of Purgatory, this place is all chipped walls and threadbare carpet. A sign at the corridor’s end reads:

Quilting Contest with the Great Scala
Activities Room, 10:30 AM

It’s true that I’m the Great Scala—meaning the only person who can move souls to Heaven or Hell with my igni power—but saying this event is hosted by the Sunset Retirement Community?

Not exactly.

Truth is, this building houses a powerful coven of quasi-demonic witches called the Bloody Knights of the Round Table. These ladies can see the future, which they think involves yours truly ending the world in a great demonpocalypse. So I volunteered to judge this contest … and will instead uncover the coven’s plans.

A lady tips her head out into the hall. “Are you the Great Scala?”

I want to reply, how many chicks have red hair, a dragonscale tail, and wear white Scala robes? But I need to keep a low profile. For the purposes of today, I am a bubbleheaded demi-demigoddess.

Blinking hard, I imagine my body’s filled with sunshine, moonbeams, and large air pockets. “Why, yes. I’m the Great Scala.”

For the record, I’m also the Queen of the Thrax, wife to Lincoln, mother to Maxon, daughter of Purgatory’s President, and recent winner of the annual Quasi Enquirer award for the sexiest demon alive.

But I digress.

“We’re ready for you.” This woman is on the shorter side with shiny brown eyes and a wrinkly smile. Her white hair wraps about her head, cotton-candy style.

“Perfect.” I flash her a grin that hopefully says, don’t worry about me. I’m totally not here to snoop.

Entering the activity room proper, I find a boxy chamber with cinderblock walls and—surprise, surprise—more frayed carpet. A dozen ladies sit at a circular table that’s covered with fabric, scissors, and spools of thread. Each woman holds a little quilt that’s about three feet square.

So far, so good. Then I notice a surprising lack of snacks. As in, there aren’t any at all. Good thing I sent my latest assistant, Alli-something, off for cookies already. With any luck, she’ll arrive with chocolaty stuff and soon.

“Thank you for coming here today, Great Scala.” The speaker is Rose, the same woman who greeted me before. Up close, I can see how she—and everyone else here—sports a great little invention called the name tag. It’s a life saver considering how 1) I’m terrible with names and 2) these women all kinda-sorta look alike. In related news, I’m also craving cotton candy.

Ready to roll.

Blog Tour with Excerpt and Giveaway ~ Zinnia by Christina Bauer

Title: Zinnia
Author: Christina Bauer
Series: Angelbound Offspring #3
Published by: Monster House Books
Publication date: July 30th 2019
Genres: Fantasy, Young Adult

As the last dragon shifter, I live alone, hiding in one of Earth’s sacred deserts. My human handlers tell me that I have no parents, no name, and no purpose other than to train for battle and one day become a vessel for the reincarnation of Chimera, the greatest dragon shifter of all. Sadly, Chimera’s rebirth will mean my own death. But my handlers say this sacrifice is a noble fate that will rebuild the dragon shifter world.

I shall die on my seventeenth birthday. That’s five days from now.

Then I hear music thumping across the desert. I take my mortal form, follow the sound, and find humans dancing in what they call a rave. There is a stage and a rock band. One thing quickly becomes clear: Unlike the audience, the musicians are dragon shifters, just like me. And one of them, the guitar player Rhodes, makes my knees turn watery. The lead singer, Kaps, has something strangely familiar about her.

It all adds up to one conclusion: My handlers lied to me. I’m not the last of my kind. Memories reappear. I had parents once. Portia and Tempest. I even had a name. Zinnia. Perhaps I have a reason to live as well. I step past the dancing humans to confront the players.

I will find out the full truth, no matter what.

Zinnia Sample – The Kiss

Slipping out from under my covers, I step toward my balcony. Cool air wafts through the curtains. A chill seeps into my skin, so I pull the tie on my silk robe a little tighter.

One moment, the balcony only frames the sight of a darkened forest and flickering stars. A second later, he is there.

My Rhodes.

My Rhana.

He says nothing, merely crosses the space to stand before me. Rhodes cups my face in his hands. The touch is both warm and electric. My body melts to be so near to him. Moonlight dances across his high cheekbones and strong jawline. His green eyes flicker with desire.

Still silent, he guides my mouth to his. At first, our kiss is gentle. A simple sweep of our lips. Then my Rhodes licks along the seam of my mouth, tempting me to open for him.

So I do.

Our kiss deepens. Suddenly, it’s as if I can’t close enough to my Rhana. Our bodies press together, shifting in a dance that has a rhythm all its own. The electric charge of magic surrounds us.

Yes, this is right.
